Last spring, the Gallaudet AAUP raised $5,000 for an external forensic audit of Gallaudet’s finances. This was in response to more than a decade of minimal pay increases, including cost-of-living adjustments. The audit was fully funded in just eight days, showing how strongly our community feels about this issue. This fundraising effort became the subject of a Daily Moth interview on YouTube.
The auditor, Dr. Howard Bunsis, is an expert in university finances (J.D., Fordham Law School; M.B.A., University of Chicago; Ph.D., University of Chicago). He will present his findings and analysis of Gallaudet’s finances on August 17 at 4:00 pm. The webinar will be interpreted.
Paid GU-AAUP members (as of August 1, 2023) and key Gallaudet administrators, faculty governance leaders, and student governance leaders have been pre-registered for the Zoom webinar. These individuals have received an email from Zoom with registration information.

We have re-opened our GoFundMe page to raise an extra $400 for interpreting and webinar expenses.
After Dr. Bunsis’ 4:00 pm presentation, the Gallaudet AAUP will be hosting a happy hour at The Rooftop at Union Market from 5:30-8:00 pm. All Gallaudet faculty and supporters are welcome to join us.
